A chance meeting and a happy outcome
Created by Fiona 2 years ago
" Many years ago our daughter Alison came to Oxford to study, and like some students, was quite severely homesick. One day my late wife
Janet, who was in the same year as Jimmy at St Andrews, and I, were in
Oxford and Jimmy recognised us and we chatted; Alison's problem was
mentioned. The outcome was that at weekends she had tea with your family
and spent some time studying and relaxing in the company of the girls.
Her problem gradually resolved and we have always been so grateful to
Jimmy and all of you. She enjoyed her time in Oxford and acquired her
qualifications.
We moved back to Broughty Ferry, ie to Dundee, then to Edinburgh and when Jimmy and Jane were in Crail
we met there or Anstruther or Broughty Ferry, or more recently we met
Jimmy in Edinburgh."
With best wishes
